European Universities Golf Championship 2017 concluded

The 5th European Universities Golf Championship concluded on September 15, 2017 with a Closing Ceremony at the Ceremonial hall of the Technical University in Liberec. Over 80 participants representing 13 Universities from 7 countries took part in this year’s edition of the event.

In male team competition, the University of Stirling (GBR) took home gold medal and champions title, followed by the University of St. Andrews (GBR) and National University of Ireland, Maynooth (IRL). University of Stirling (GBR) also won the female team competition, followed by National University of Ireland, Maynooth (IRL) and University of Exeter (GBR), winning bronze.

In the individual events, the title of champions went to Victor Pastor Rufian from the University of Malaga (ESP) in men’s and Shannon Burke from the National University of Ireland, Maynooth (IRL).

Medals and awards were presented by Mr Ondrej Novak, Prorector of the Technical University in Liberec, Mr Aitor Canibe Sanchez, EUSA Executive Committee member and Mr Jindrich Martinec, President of the Organising Committee.

Passing of the EUSA flag

The EUSA flag was passed to the representatives of the University of Malaga as the next European Universities Golf Championship will take place in Antequera, Spain in June 2019.
