European Universities Games 2018 Working Meeting in Lisbon

At the occasion of the ENGSO events in Portugal, a working meeting related to the European Universities Games Coimbra 2018 was held on April 30, 2015 in the Portuguese capital - Lisbon.

The meeting was attended by EUSA President Mr Adam Roczek, EC member Mr Bruno Barracosa, Communications and Projects Manager Mr Andrej Pisl, all representing the European University Sports Association (EUSA), Secretary General of the EUG / EUSA Games 2018 Mr Mario Santos, and the President of the Portuguese Academic Federation of University Sport (FADU) Ms Filipa Godinho.

European Universities Games Coimbra 2018

Participants discussed the current status of the preparations and the plans for the Games, roles of partners and aspects of legacy and active participation of the Organisers in other EUSA initiatives and projects.

The largest European multi-sport student event, the European Universities Games, was launched in 2012 with the first edition in the Spanish City of Cordoba. The second edition was held in Rotterdam, the Netherlands in 2014, also with the support of the European Union through Erasmus+ programme. In 2016 the Games will be held in Croatia in Zagreb and Rijeka and in 2018 in Coimbra in Portugal. The bidding for the 2020 Games is foreseen to open this year.
