European Universities Basketball Championship 2017 concluded
The 14th European Universities Basketball Championship 2017 has concluded on July 23 with intense finals followed by the exciting Closing Ceremony in Miskolc at the Generali Arena.
Over 380 participants representing 25 universities from 16 countries took part in this year’s edition of the event.
In men’s finals, the title of champion went to the University of Bologna (ITA) who won a thrilling final match against University of Seville (ESP).
In women finals, the title of champion went to the University of Strasbourg (FRA) who has won an exciting final match against Singidunum University in Belgrade (SRB).
Medals and awards were presented by the Chancellor of the University of Miskolc Mr Csaba Deak, Vice-Major of Miskolc Municipality Mr Janos Kiss, President of the Hungarian University Sports Federation Mr Adam Kiss, Competition Committee member of the Hungarian Basketball Federation Mr Janos Gincsai, CEO of the Organising Committee Mr Zoltan Rakaczki, Executive Committee member of the European University Sports Association Mr Bill Thompson, EUSA Technical Delegate Mr Peter George and Assistant Technical Delegate Mrs Pascale Weiwers.

3. Maria Curie-Sklodowska University (Poland)
Medallists Women’s competition:
1. University of Strasbourg (France)
2. Belgrade University Singidunum (Serbia)
3. University of Physical Education (Hungary)
The EUSA flag was passed to the representative of the next Championship’s organiser, which will be held in Poznan, Poland in 2019. Basketball will also be one of the sports at the European Universities Games 2018 next year in Coimbra. All teams are warmly welcomed to join the next EUSA Basketball events!
