EUG organisers meet in Zagreb
The organisers of the 2016 European Universities Games in Zagreb-Rijeka met with the organisers of the 2024 European Universities Games in Debrecen-Miskolc in a transfer of knowledge meeting held in Zagreb, Croatia on Wednesday, July 7.
The purpose of the meeting was for the EUG2016 organisers to share their experiences of hosting the EUSA Games in two cities, as will be the case in at EUG2024 in Hungary.
Present at the meeting were various members of both the EUG2016 and EUG2024 organising committees, including representatives from University of Debrecen’s Sports Science Coordination Institute, Municipality of Miskolc and University Sportmarketing Kft, as well as representatives from the Hungarian University Sports Federation.
Comprehensive presentations were delivered by the EUG2016 organisers, giving insight of the two-city model and the management of related activities.
Topics including communication, ceremonies, project management, administration, sports, volunteers, knowledge management, transfers, Erasmus+, legacies, sponsorship and cooperation were discussed.
Best practices and experiences were also shared, with EUG2024 organisers given the opportunity to ask questions and receive valuable feedback.
EUG2024 is scheduled to take place from July 10-25, 2024, with the two cities readying themselves to receive 5 000 participants and 1 500 volunteers to assist student-athletes in taking part in 20 sports competitions over the two-week period.
