EUG Cordoba 2012 working visit

Mr Alberto Gualtieri, EUSA President, Mr  Matjaz Pecovnik, Secretary General and Mr Adam Roczek, Sports Manager visited Cordoba - the host city of the 1st European Universities Games 2012. The visit took place from June 17-19, 2010.

The EUSA representatives were welcomed by Prof. dr. Jose Manuel Roldan,  the Rector of the University of Cordoba, Prof. dr. Manuel Torres Aguilar, the Vice Rector and Chairman of the Organising Committee.

 

Cordoba hosts and EUSA representatives visit accommodation site

During their stay in Cordoba the EUSA officials visited together with the EUG 2012 Executive Committee Members Prof. dr. Vicente Martinez Orga, Mr Rifaat Chabout, Mr Antonio Garcia del Moral and Mr Octavio Triano Ramos the sports and accommodation facilities for this biggest European Universities Sports Event, which will be held from July 13-23, 2012.  

The participants also discussed and finalised the sports program of the games, which will consist of 10 sports: Basketball, Football, Volleyball, Futsal, Handball, Rugby 7s, Tennis, Badminton, Table Tennis and Beach Volleyball.

It was also agreed that next year the EUSA Executive Committee Meeting and EUSA Convention will be organised in this Andalusian City.

The Rector of the University of Cordoba assured EUSA again, that they will do everything to make this first edition of the games to be successful. »We will work very hard, and at the same time we will enjoy in this work«, he added.

Mr Gualtieri thanked the hosts and expressed his full confidence in their engagement and efforts for successful realisation of the project.

EUSA will be present in Cordoba again already next month, as the city organises the European Universities Rugby 7’s Championship.
