EUG 2024: three spectacular finals today
The overall atmosphere at the EUG 2024 Games was electric and vibrant, filled with excitement and anticipation.
Spectators passionately cheered for their teams, creating an energetic and supportive environment. The Games not only highlight remarkable athletic performances but also foster a sense of unity and celebration, making it an unforgettable event for everyone involved.
In Debrecen, the women's futsal category at EUG 2024 reached its last day with an amazing final game. The bronze medal game featured a fierce contest between Tampere University (FIN) and Rey Juan Carlos University (ESP), showcasing exceptional skill and determination. The bronze medal was awarded to the girls of Rey Juan Carlos University (ESP).
The grand finale was between National Pedagogical Dragomanov University (UKR) facing off against Nantes University (FRA) in a highly anticipated match. The intense competition and unwavering spirit of the teams brought an exceptional atmosphere to the arena. Ultimately, the winner of the final game was Nantes University (FRA), claiming the championship title with a remarkable performance.
The silver was claimed by National Pedagogical Dragomanov University (UKR).

The men’s futsal teams were playing the semifinals in the afternoon, the first semifinal game was played between the University of Seville (ESP) and the University of Zagreb (CRO) resulting with the Spanish team continued their way to the finals because the final score became 5:3 them, beating the Croatian team.
The other semi-final game was played between the University of Maia (POR) and Ivano-Frankivsk College of Physical Education (UKR). The Ukrainian team won the game by 6:4 and will fight to win the gold medal tomorrow against the University of Seville.
Football was on its sixth day, with Male Futsal on the seventh day: the end is not far, do your best!
The women's football semifinals at EUG 2024 delivered intense excitement. The morning match between the University of Wurzburg (GER) and the University of Valencia (ESP) went into overtime and penalties, with Wurzburg winning 4:3 in a thrilling finish.
The second semifinal featured an all-French clash where the Polytechnic University of Hauts-de-France edged out the University of Rennes 1:0. In the final game we can expect a great battle between the Polytechnic University of Hauts-de-France (FRA) and University of Wurzburg (GER).
In the men's division in football, the first semifinal game was between the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (GER) against University of Wurzburg (GER), resulting in a well deserved victory for Wurzburg. The second semifinal game was played by the host city team University of Debrecen (HUN), which faced off against the State University of Trade and Economics (UKR), with the ukrainian squad emerging victorious and earning their place in the finals.
In Miskolc, the campus is overflowing with energy because it was the last day of beach volleyball and the first day of karate.
In karate, everyone competed with fair play and a competitive spirit, aiming to secure their spot in the finals over the next two days. We had the opportunity to witness all the heaviest weight categories for both men and women, observing the diversity of techniques influenced by these criteria and the cultural backgrounds of the athletes. While we eagerly await the finals in two days, let's enjoy the team competitions, where the atmosphere will undoubtedly be electrifying.
For the final’s of volleyball, the atmosphere of the Generali Sports Hall was incredible and reinforced by the arrival of basketball players, welcomed in a best way ever for this EUG2024.
The first final was in the men's category, where the suspense reached its peak. After the first set was won by the University of Brno (CZE), the University of Rostock (GER) responded by winning the next three sets. The final set was extremely close, almost reaching a tie-break, but in the end, the University of Rostock emerged victorious and became the new champions of EUG 2024!
In the women’s competition, despite the tenacity of the team from the University of Zagreb, it was not enough to claim the EUG title from the reigning champions of the past three years. Thus, the University of Bologna (ITA) added to their accolades with two EUSA Championship titles and, as of today, a second consecutive European Universities Games title. Congratulations to this team for their consistent and formidable performance!
As for the individual prizes, the MVP was assigned to Adam Provaznik from Brno University of Technology (CZE) and to Silvia Iona Coman from Ovidius University (ROU).
Finally, the Top Scorer award was attributed to Balazs Majoros from the Hungarian University of Sport Sciences (HUN) and to Marie Nevot from University of Rennes (FRA).
