EUG 2022: Goals, scores, winners
The 7th day of competitions was no different from other days when it comes to fun, reaching for the top and a lot of scores and goals. It was the day of two more finals, futsal women and volleyball, GTM of beach handball, semi-finals of futsal men and round two of football.
Finals of volleyball were quite eventful today. In men’s finals, for the 3rd place on the podium we could see a great match, where Masaryk University (CZE) won against Sumy State University (UKR).
For the gold and silver, we experienced a strong minded will to win coming from both Gazi University (TUR) and Beykent University (TUR), where with a result of 3:1 Beykent University secured the 1st place on the podium.
In women’s competitions the 3rd place on the podium along with the bronze medals, it belonged to University of Zagreb (CRO) that played an interesting match against University of Granada (ESP). For the rest of the places on the podium, we had the chance to witness the competition spirit coming from two universities both from the came country, giving their best to win the medals and to play fair. At the end of this final, University of Bologna (ITA) won the match against University of Venice (ITA). It was a great atmosphere and a interesting final to watch.
At the same time, in another venue, at the futsal court at Zatoka sportu, the audience witnessed a very anticipating final game between Simon Kuznets Kharkiv National University of Economics (UKR) and Rey Juan Carlos University (ESP). With the result of 5:3, the win went to Rey Juan Carlos University. Both teams played amazingly, gave their best and gave the public a great game to watch. Third place on the podium was this time earned by University of Munister (GER).
Semi-final games for futsal men, were happening also, throughout the day. We caught a game between Norwegian School of Economics (NOR) and Lithuanian Sports University (LTU).
Football had its round 2 day today. On the sunny courts the excitement and fight for goals was not missing.
Besides all the sports, a General Technical Meeting for beach handball also happened today. In women’s tournaments 4 universities are going to take part and in men’s tournament 7 universities are going to try for the best result possible. The rules, the venues, other technical information, and the draws were presented today.
