The Opening Ceremony of 6th European Universities Table Tennis Championship took place on June 18th in Zonguldak at Bülent Ecevit university Main Campus.

The Ceremony was attended by the rector of Bülent Ecevit University Prof. Dr. Mahmut Özer, the governor deputy of Zonguldak Mr Fethi Özdemir, the mayor Mr Muharrem Akdemir, Prof. Dr. Kemal Tamer, President of the Turkish University Sports Federation and General Secretary of TUST Mr Erdoğan Çelebi, along with other distinguished guests. 

On behalf of the Organizing Committee participants were welcomed by Prof. Dr. Kemal Tamer, the President of Turkish University Sports Federation.

EUSA EC Delegate Mrs Ivana Ertlova welcomed all participants on behalf of the European University Sports Association and wished all the teams and participants who came to test their skills and abilities great competitions and all the best. Shee also thanked the Organizing Committee for all their contributions.

The competition is organized by Turkish University Sports Federation and Bülent Ecevit University with contribution of Governorship of Zonguldak.

Before the opening ceremony, new sport facilities for the university students were opened officially with the company of Rector and governor deputy of Zonguldak. The opening ceremony was organised with a delightful cultural programme in front of the sports hall. 

The Championship will take place from 19th to 23rd June in Zonguldak. EUSA is represented by Mrs Ivana Ertlova and the Technical Delegate Mr Andrzej Hrehorowicz. They will make sure that the event will run smoothly and without problems. The Competition is hosting 13 women and 15 men teams representing 27 universities from 11 countries. 

The title of European Universities Champion is defended by University of Jozef Rusiecki for men and Kazan Federal University for women.
