EUC Rugby 7's in Sofia concludes

The 6th European Universities Rugby 7s Championship has concluded on 16th June 2013 with an exciting Closing Ceremony at National Sports Academy Vasil Levski. Over 190 participants from 14 Universities from 7 countries took part in this year’s edition of the event.

 

In men’s finals, the title of the champions went to Georgian National University who has won a thrilling final match against University of Pau and Pays de l'Adour (FRA).

In women finals, the title of the champions went to University Paul Sabatier Toulouse (FRA) who has won an exciting final match against University of Coimbra (POR).

Medals and awards were presented by Mr Fernando Parente - EUSA representative, prof. Nikolay Kolev - president of the Bulgarian Students Rugby Union, prof. Daniela Dasheva - Vice-Rector of the National Sports Academy Vasil Levski and prof. Lachezar Dimitrov - head of Football and tennis at NSA Vasil Levski.


Flag passing
 

The EUSA flag was passed on to the organisers of the 7th European Universities Rugby 7’s Championship, which will be held in Godollo, Hungary. Next EUSA event to feature Rugby will be the 2nd European Universities Games in 2014 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
