EUC Orienteering headed to Lodz in 2025
The city of Lodz in Poland will host the European Universities Orienteering Championship in 2025. The event will take place from 24-27 July 2025.
An inspection visit was organized from 3-4 December, where EUSA Representative Tomasz Aftanski visited Lodz to check on the ongoing preparations. The event will be organized by UKS Orientus Club in cooperation with the University of Lodz, the City of Lodz, the University Sports Association of Poland and the Polish Orienteering Federation.
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, present during the inspection visits were: Lukasz Charuba – OC and National Orienteering Federation President; Beata Winczewska – OC Representative; Rafal Podzinski – OC Representative; Tadeusz Pilkowski – International Orienteering Federation Event Advisor.
During the visit, the delegation checked the Academic Sports Association as the venue for ceremonies and the arena for the sprint finals, then the Academic Village and Canteen for accommodation and catering for the participants. The Faculty of Philology of the University of Lodz will serve as a venue for offices and meetings. Finally, the delegation visited the Lodz Fabryczna train station to discuss the logistics.
EUSA expresses gratitude to the Organizing Committee for their warm hospitality and extends congratulations on the excellent preparations made thus far. They emphasized that the organizers are aiming to host a championship that is technically challenging while fostering a positive atmosphere for students.
