EUC Karate in Budapest concludes

The 6th European Universities Karate Championship concluded on 21th July 2013 with a Closing Ceremony at Budaörs Sports Hall in Budapest, Hungary. Over 350 participants, representing 127 universities from 27 European countries took part in this year’s edition of the event.

 

The competitions were in men’s and women’s kata and kumite, with several weight categories, and also including the team competitions. The winner of the Kata team competition is University of Giessen (GER) in men's category and St. Kliment Ohridski University Bitola (MKD) in women's. In Kumite team, the winner in men's category was the University of Montenegro (MNE) while the University of Salzburg (AUT) took home the women's champions title. Medals and awards were presented by EUSA Honorary President Alberto Gualtieri and HUSF President Professor Adam Kiss.

In the end, the EUSA flag was passed to the representative of the Students Sport Association of Montenegro, as the 7th European Universities Karate Championship in 2015 will be organised in Podgorica, Montenegro. All teams are warmly welcomed to join the next European Universities Karate Championship.
