EUC Golf starts
The Opening Ceremony of the 3rd European Universities Golf Championship took place on September 17th in Forges-les-Eaux near Saint-Saens, France. The opening ceremony started with a parade of teams in the great hall of the athletes' village.
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, participants were welcomed by Mr Didier Chollet, President of the Organizing Committee. EUSA Representative, Mr Kemal Tamer welcomed all participants and wished all the teams and participants who came to test their skills and abilities great competitions and all the best. He also thanked the Organizing Committee for all their contributions.
After the oath athletes made by the captain of the University of Stirling, which won in 2011 with men and women, the ceremony was concluded with a convivial cocktail.
The competition is organized by Regional University Sport Committee of Rouen – Haute-Normandie and the French University Sport Federation with contribution of University of Rouen, the Ministry in charge of sports and the Ministry in charge of higher education, the Region of Haute-Normandie, the Department of Seine-Maritime, Groupe Partouche and the Golf of Saint-Saëns.
The Championship is taking place between September 17 and 21 in Saint-Saëns. EUSA is represented by Mr Kemal Tamer and the Technical Delegate is Mr Rob Macpherson. They will make sure that the event runs smoothly and without problems. The Competition is hosting 18 teams, representing 13 universities from 7 countries.
