7th European Universities Futsal Championship, first time with women competition, has started with the opening ceremony on 18th July. 16 men and 9 women teams from 17 countries with 347 participants will compete at this year's championship.

EUC Futsal Championship 2010 is held from 18th-25th in Zagreb, Croatia. Zagreb University Sports Federation together with the University of Zagreb and Croatian University Sports Federation are organisers of this event.

 

The Opening ceremony was held in Bojan Stranic sport hall in presence of Rector of the University of Zagreb prof. dr. Aleksa Bjeliš who opened the championship and representative from Ministry of Sports, Mr Zeljko Klaric, EUSA Representative Mr Olaf Tabor from Germany, futsal Technical delegates Mr Patrik Perosa from Slovenia and Mr Tomasz Aftanski from Poland and other guests under the high support from President of Republic of Croatia dr. Ivo Josipović.

 

After the interesting Opening ceremony, the Technical meeting was held, where the draw has been made for the male and female competitions. Today, the first matches are already taking place in the two futsal sports hall in Zagreb.
