EUC Football starts

The Opening Ceremony of 10th European Universities Football Championship took place on 24 of June in Almeria at Youth Stadium “Emilio Campra”.

 

The Ceremony was attended by Mr Arie Rosenzweig, EUSA Representative, Mr Antonis Petrou and Mr Andreas Demetrius, EUSA Technical Delegates as well as the President of Organizing Committee, Mr Jose Antonio Guerrero. On behalf of the Organizing Committee participants were welcomed by Honourable Rector of the University of Almería, Mr Pedro Molina, who officially opened the Championship.

EUSA EC Delegate Mr Arie Rosenzweig welcomed all participants and wished all the teams and participants who came to test their skills and abilities great competitions and all the best. He also thanked the Organizing Committee for all their contributions.

 

The European Universities Football Championship is taking place from 24 to 30 in Almeria. The competition is organized by University of Almería with contribution of Spanish University Sport Committee, the Andalusian Government, the County Council of Almeria, the Council of the City of Almería, and the Andalusian Football Federation. The University of Almeria has organized national universities championships four times from different disciplines, highlighting the Spanish Universities Football Championship in 2009 and 2013.

EUSA is represented by Arie Rosenzweig and the Technical Delegates are Mr Antonis Petrou and Mr Andreas Demetrius. They will make sure that the event will run smoothly and without problems. The Competition will host twenty four teams representing twenty two Universities from eleven countries.

The title of European Universities Champion is defended by the University of Halic in male category (not participating in this tournament, so it will not defend his title) and in the female category for the University Paul Sabatier Toulousse.
