From August 3 - 10 the 1. European University Championships Football (men) and the 1. EUSA-Cup Football (women) took place in Rome/ITA. Winners in both events were the teams from Germany. In the men's final the University of WĂĽrzburg/GER beat the University of Erlangen-NĂĽrnberg/GER 1:0. 3rd place went to the University of Belgrade/YUG who beat the University of Grenoble I/FRA 2:0. Also the women's event was won by the German team. The University of Erlangen-NĂĽrnberg beat the team from the University of Barcelona/ESP 5:3.
