EUC Beach Sports headed to Granada in 2025
The city of Granada in Spain will host the European Universities Beach Sports Championship in 2025. The Beach Handball event will take place from 14-17 July 2025, while Beach Volleyball from 14-19 July 2025.
An inspection visit was organized from 10-12 December, where EUSA Technical Delegate for Beach Volleyball, Anton Fichtinger, visited Granada to check on the ongoing preparations. The inspection visit for Beach Handball will take place at the beginning of next year.
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, present during the inspection visit were: Jordi Joan Mercade Torras, Director of the Sports Centre (CAD) of the University of Granada; Marta Lozano Garcia, Sports Activities and Events Manager of the Sports Centre (CAD) of the University of Granada; Ruben Sanchez Rodrigo, Sports Facilities and Campus Manager of the Sports Centre (CAD) of the University of Granada; Alejandro Martin-Requena Martinez, Sports Competition Manager of the Sports Centre (CAD) of the University of Granada; Francisco Fernandez Olmedo, Technical Assistant Sports Activities and Events of the Sports Centre (CAD) of the University of Granada; Iban Fernandez Gomez, Technical Assistant Sports Facilities and Campus of the Sports Centre (CAD) of the University of Granada; and Alicia Lara Garcia, Technical Assistant Sports Competition of the Sports Centre (CAD) of the University of Granada.
During the visit, the delegation checked the venue for ceremonies and the room for the general technical meeting at the Rectorate of the University of Granada, as well as the catering area at the campus. The delegation held two technical meetings during the visit; the first was a general meeting and after a specific with the representatives of referees at the Polideportivo Municipal Jorge Abarca, which will also be the venue for the competition.
EUSA thanks the OC for the hospitality and congratulated them on the great preparations so far, highlighting that the organizers are planning to organize a technically demanding championship with a very good student atmosphere.
