EUC Basketball 2017 Inspection visit

Following the visit of EUSA President Mr Adam Roczek and Sports Manager Mr Patrik Perosa in 2015, in the period of 24 - 26 October, 2016 an official inspection visit took place in Miskolc, host city of the next European Universities Basketball Championship in 2017.

On the first evening of the visit, Mr Peter George, EUSA Technical Delegate, participated at an official dinner with Mr Andras Torma, Rector of the University of Miskolc, Mr Peter Bodnar, Secretary General of the Hungarian Basketball Federation, Mr Lorant Kepes, Head of Department of Miskolc Municipality, Mr Zoltan Rakaczki, board member of the Hungarian University Sports Federation and Secretary General of the Organising Committee of EUC Basketball 2017. All represented organisations ensured their full support to the Championship and will work together for a successful event.

The next day Mr George, together with the representatives of the Organising Committee, visited all the sports venues, accommodation buildings and catering places. A meeting also took place between Mr George and Mr Csaba Deak, Chancellor of the University, who is also the President of the Organising Committee. During the meeting the main aims and program of the Championship were successfully discussed. The visit was followed by the discussion of the main organisational issues.

The inspection visit was concluded on October 26 with the approval of the venues and organisational plans.  Miskolc Municipality and University, supported by all key partners, are well prepared to host the EUC Basketball 2017, and participating teams can look forward to an amazing Championship, which will be held between July 16 and 23, 2017.
