EUC Badminton to be hosted by Madrid in 2025
The city of Madrid in Spain, will be hosting the European Universities Badminton Championship in 2025. The event will take place next summer from 22-28 June.
An inspection visit was organised from 25-27 November, where EUSA Technical Delegate for Badminton Jozef Kuprivec, and EUSA Sports Coordinator, Eszter Gulyas visited Madrid to check on the ongoing preparations on behalf of the European University Sports Association.
Representing the Organizing Committee, present during the inspection visit were the President of the OC Jose Luis Lesma, and members of the Organizing Committee, Pedro Gavin Alvarez and Pol Arnan Rimbau.
The Inspection Visit team visited Rey Felipe VI Sports Center in the municipality of Boadilla del Monte, where they met the representatives of the municipality and the sports centre to discuss and check formal, technical, and logistic requirements.
Following the meetings were visits to the campus of Camilo Jose Cela University to inspect the dormitories, catering areas and other rooms that will be used for technical purposes.
As for cultural activity, an immersive tour was organized for the delegation in the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
EUSA team thanks the OC for the hospitality and congratulated them on the great preparations so far, highlighting that the organizers are planning to organize a technically demanding championship with a very good student atmosphere.
