EUC Badminton 2008: results
The 5th EUSA Badminton Championships were held in Krakow (POL). 110 participants from 14 Universities and 10 countries enjoyed the playing facilities of a very high standard, as well as a cultural programme which enabled competitors to visit the world heritage sites of Poland. The championship was of a very high standard with a number of athletes taking part fresh from the Beijing Olympics. The University of Lodz was represented by world class players, of whom four were Olympians including Robert Mateusiak who reached the quarterfinals of the Olympics in men’s doubles and mixed doubles, and PrzemysÅ‚aw Wacha who has a world ranking of 12 in men’s singles. At the end of the championships, the EUSA flag was passed to the representative of University of Geneva, who will host the 6th Championship in June 2009.  The championship will be part of the celebrations of 450 years of the University of Geneva.


Results:

Team Event:
The University of Lodz (POL) won the final against the defending champion University of Hamburg (GER) with 3:0.
The bronze medal match was won by the University of Vladivostok (RUS) against the University of Loughborough (GBR).
