European Commission held a meeting of the Expert Group on Human Resources Development in Sport (XG HR), in the topic of volunteering, which took place on June 16, 2015 in Brussels, Belgium.

European University Sports Association (EUSA) attended the meeting as an invited observer organisation, represented by its Secretary General Mr Matjaz Pecovnik.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Expert Group Chair, Mr Guy Taylor and EU Sport Unit Policy Officer, Ms Agata Dziarnowska, welcomed the representatives of the EU member states and the representatives of the observers. The participants after discussed the draft Recommendations to encourage volunteering in sport, including best practices on legal and fiscal mechanisms.

In the continuation, the Expert Group on Human Resources Development in Sport also discussed the Qualifications in sport, Compliance of national qualifications with international qualification standards of international sport federations and Contribution of sport to the employability of young people. The next meeting of the Expert Group on Human Resources Development in Sport will be held in November 2015 in Luxembourg.
