ESU elects new President in Malta
Malta hosted European Students' Union (ESU) electoral General Assembly / Board Meeting, accompanied by seminar on student advocacy in a digital era between May 1 and 7, 2017.
Mr Helge Schwitters from Norway has been elected as new President. Along with Helge, two Vice-Chairpersons, Mr Adam Gajek from Poland and Ms Caroline Sundberg from Sweden, as well as seven Executive Committee members were also elected at the 72nd ESU Board Meeting.
Over 100 delegates from 45 national unions of students from 38 countries participated in the meeting. The newly elected leadership will represent more than 15 million students in Europe. Their one year mandate will start in July.
At the meeting, ESU members also adopted 16 resolutions for improving students' lives across Europe.
European University Sports Association (EUSA) and European Students' Union (ESU) signed a memorandum of understanding last year, as a result of common interests and goals of both organisations.
