The European Students’ Union (ESU) held their board meeting online due to the current global pandemic, with EUSA’s Student Commission Chair Ms Anna Edes present.

The meeting was opened with a speech by ESU President Ms Gohar Hovhannisyan, who thanked the National Union of Student in Hungary (HOOK) for hosting the event online.

Her opening speech was followed by a short message from HOOK President Mr Laszlo Murai.

The meeting was attended by guests from different organisations. Ms Valeria Csepe, the Chair of the Hungarian Higher Education Accreditation Committee, gave insight into the quality assurance of higher education, the importance of the involvement of students in the design of the programmes, the importance of student feedback and the challenges of the system. 

The final session introduced the situation of the University of Theatre and Film Arts in Hungary (SZFE) in detail and the protests demanding academic freedom.
