ESC on-arrival volunteer training in Zrece
Slovenian National agency MOVIT organised a training between February 14 and 18 for the European Solidarity Corps volunteers in Zrece. EUSA Institute volunteer also took part in the training.
For Aleksandra Andreeva from Russia, who joined the EUSA team at the office in Ljubljana in November, this was her on-arrival training. For some volunteers, who have been in Slovenia for a longer period, part of the event was used as the mid-term training. Due to Covid-19, the in-person activity was organised with a slight delay.
In ESC mobility programme, financed by the European Union, participants come from EU and programme countries. In the case of this training, the volunteers came from France, Russia, Spain, Turkey, Palestine, Slovenia, Italy, Serbia, Norway, Germany and Estonia.
The 5-day-program gave a platform to the 22 new-arrivals to introduce themselves and their hosting organisations, to form new connections between each other and to get to know more about their rights and responsibilities as the ESC volunteers during their projects' experiences in Slovenia. The week also included various team-building games, presentations about the meaning and recognition of non-formal education, as well as project management workshops and one day to perform a project connecting with the local community.
The programme also included a day trip to Rogla, where participants were able to take part in the cross country skiing lesson, to go hiking or enjoy the panoramic views of the Rogla on adrenaline sledding.
European Solidarity Corps (ESC; former European Voluntary Service - EVS) opportunities with EUSA are possible because of the support from the European Union and Movit, the National Agency in Slovenia. EUSA Institute is an accredited organisation, with the European Solidarity Corps quality label.
