Erasmus+ Sport Info Day 2022
The European Commission and the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) organised an online info day on Erasmus+ Sport and other EU funding opportunities on January 31 and February 1, 2022.
The event was opened by Ms Mariya Gabriel, European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth and Mr Tomasz Frankowski, Member of the European Parliament.
Objectives and structure of Erasmus+ Sport were presented by Mr Yves Le Lostecque, EACEA Head of Erasmus Mundus & Sport Unit, and Ms Gaël Broze, EACEA Head of Sport Sector.
A round table on program priorities was organised, moderated by Ms Florencia van Houdt, Head of Sport Unit of DG EAC, European Commission. The panellists Mr Stefano Pintus (European Commission's Sport Unit), Ms Iva Glibo (ENGSO Youth), Ms Heidi Sulander (Permanent Representation of Finland to the EU), Ms Gloria Viseras (Former gymnast, Erasmus+ Sport project coordinator) and Mr Jean Gracia (European Athletics) discussed the importance and opportunities of Erasmus+ from their viewpoints.
Second day's working sessions were moderated by Mr Luciano Di Fonzo, Deputy Head of Erasmus Mundus & Sport Unit, EACEA. These included the sessions on How to apply - Submission procedure technical details, How to present your project - Funding mechanism, work packages and most frequent mistakes, as well as the session on Evaluation process in detail.
The current Erasmus+ programme is running from 2021 to 2027, aiming to be more inclusive, accessible, digital and sustainable. The programme recognises horizontal priorities as well as sport specific priorities: encouraging the participation in sport and physical activity; promoting integrity and values; promoting education in and through sport; and combatting violence and discrimination.
