Erasmus+ Sport Funding Seminar well-received
The European University Sports Association, through the EUSA Institute, held a successful Erasmus+ Sport Funding Opportunities Seminar for its members on Monday, April 12.
The Seminar, which took place online, gave EUSA member associations the opportunity to learn more about the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union, gaining insight into the initiatives on offer and the various opportunities available to them.
EUSA has been involved in European-funded projects for the past decade, and following a successful application in nine different initiatives for 2021, are now involved in 18 different Erasmus+-funded projects in total.
The online meeting thus allowed the association to share its vast experiences with National University Sports Associations across Europe, and encourage them to get involved in projects which may be of interest to them.
Following an introduction from EUSA Secretary General Mr Matjaz Pecovnik and a welcome address from EUSA President Mr Adam Roczek, EUSA Education and Development Manager Ms Sara Rozman then presented in detail the various projects EUSA is currently involved in, what they are about and what the objectives of each project are.
The EUSA Institute’s current list of projects include four initiatives where EUSA is the co-ordinator, namely Inclusion in Sport (iSport), European Universities Games Belgrade (EUG2021), Supporting Mobility and Good Practice Exchange in University Sport (UniSport), PROmoting Dual Career through Education of young Journalists (PRODUCE).
The EUSA Institute is also a partner in 14 projects include Athletes Friendly Education (AFE), Education Model for Parents of Athletes in Academics (EMPATIA), Media as a Channel of Athletes’ Dual Careers Promotion and Education (Edmedia), Micro Learning Entrepreneurship for Athletes (MLEA), Brand Value Alignment through Dual Career (BRAVA), Gender Equality Toolkit for Generation Z (GETZ), Innovating Football Leadership through Practice and Policy (iFlipp), Rainbow Youth for Sporting Equality (RYSE), PROmoting GendeR Equality in Sports (PROGRES), Halting Harassment and Abuse in Sports using Learning Technologies (HALT), Green Sports Hub Europe (GSHE), (Uni)ted forces to support the education of (Uni)versity sport comm(Uni)ty (UNI4S), Work for a cause, serve for sport (W4C-S4S), Be(ach) Volunteer, Be(ach) Fair! (VOLFAIR).
Following the presentation of EUSA projects, Mr Jorg Forster from the German University Sports Federation (ADH) as well as Ms Marianna Pikul from the University Sports Association of Poland each delivered presentations on their university sport association’s experiences in European projects.
Both Mr Forster and Ms Pikul outlined their involvement in continental initiatives, helping the 27 member associations present in the meeting to learn about the commitment and rewards associated with project involvement.
EUSA Communications and Projects Manager Mr Andrej Pisl then delivered a detailed presentation on the various possibilities and opportunities available for National University Sports Associations to apply for projects, either as a coordinator or partner, and the steps which need to be taken ahead of May’s application deadline.
A question and answer session was then held before the closure of the virtual meeting.
