Erasmus+ and ESC stakeholders conference held in Brussels

European Commission organised Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps (ESC) Stakeholders’ Conference, which took place on February 18, 2025 at the EGG conference centre in Brussels, with plenary parts also streamed online.

The event was attended by the invited stakeholders, representatives of the European Commission and centralised agencies, national Erasmus+ and ESC agencies, representatives of national and local governments and key organisations, partners and beneficiaries of the programme. EUSA Director Projects & Policy Andrej Pisl represented the European University Sports Association and the EUSA Institute.

For the opening of the event, welcome speeches were made by the Director-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture at the European Commission Pia Ahrenkilde Hansen and Executive Vice-President for Social Rights and Skills, Quality Jobs and Preparedness at the European Commission Roxana Minzatu.

Glenn Micallef, European Commissioner for Intergenerational Fairness, Youth, Culture and Sport also joined for the opening of the conference, participating in an interview-style talk about the significance, priorities and future of the Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps programmes.

In the first part also a panel round table debate was organised, with representatives of several different key stakeholders groups.

After lunch, participants then first discussed the priorities of the programmes in parallel groups: skills and competitiveness; inclusion and outreach; participation, citizenship and EU values; green and digital transition; simplification and coherence.

The second group of parallel sessions focused on the key actions and opportunities within the programmes: mobility opportunities; cooperation opportunities; volunteering opportunities; policy, impact and scaling up; international dimension and enlargement.

In the last part, summaries of reports from the parallel sessions and inputs from the participants were presented. The Stakeholders’ Conference was part of the evaluation of the current programmes, programming and preparations for the new generation of programmes, and multi-financial framework post 2027. As part of the consultation and evaluation, there is also an opportunity for beneficiaries and other stakeholders to submit their feedback; this can be done as part of the public consultation by May 6: EU’s next long-term budget (MFF) – EU funding for cross-border education, training and solidarity, young people, media, culture, and creative sectors, values, and civil society
