Mr Hester De Vries and Bart Achterof, President and Treasurer of the Dutch University Sports Federation met with Mr Peter Verboven and Dieter Theylaert, Chairman International Platform and Secretary General of the Belgian University Sports Federation, at the University of Antwerp in Belgium.

The objective of this meeting was the establishment of a “BENELUX+ group”, which will create a cooperative platform between the Dutch and Belgian University Sports Federation, together with countries which have an historical or recent connection with the two abovementioned Federations.

Countries like Benin, Dutch Antilles, Congo and Luxemburg will be informed about the initiatives and invited to join this informal platform and in addition countries like Suriname will be stimulated to join the international university sport structures.
