Don’t delay, register for EUSA’s 2021 events today!
While 2020 may have brought a combination of challenges that nobody could have anticipated, it doesn’t mean there won’t be joy, wonder and several events to look forward to in 2021.
Highlighted on EUSA’s sports calendar for this year is the very first EUSA European Universities Cycling Championship, taking place in Nijmegen, the Netherlands from June 8-13, following which we move to Belgrade, Serbia for the highly-anticipated 5th edition of the European Universities Games, to be held between July 14 and 27.
The Games will involve 21 different sporting disciplines in the sports programme, including Badminton, Basketball, 3x3 Basketball, Beach Handball, Beach Volleyball, Chess, Football, Futsal, Handball, Judo, Karate, Kickboxing, Orienteering, Rowing, Rugby 7s, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Tennis, Volleyball and Water Polo. There will also be a Para Table Tennis competition for student-athletes with disabilities, and a Sitting Volleyball competition as a demonstrative sport.
Apart from the sporting competitions, the event will focus on educational and social aspects of university sport in Europe, featuring various conferences and workshops on topics affecting student-athletes and university sport across the continent.
The local organising committees for both the European Universities Cycling Championships and European Universities Games have been hard at work in recent months, with preparations in full swing for what is expected to be two highly-successful and well-organised events.
The first registration deadline for both events is January 15, and the second February 15 – the deadline is fast-approaching, with all interested participants encouraged to register at their earliest convenience in order to secure a spot at each event.
Registration information for the 2021 EUC Cycling can be found at cycling2021.eusa.eu, while those interested in taking part in EUG 2021 in Belgrade can visit eug2021.eu.
The health of participants at EUSA events are, and will always be, the primary concern, with situation being constantly monitored and protocol already in place, under the guidance of local authorities, should the current global situation still be prevalent at the time of the competitions.
In the undesirable case that this year’s sporting events may be affected by the pandemic in any way, the deposits, participation fees and EUSA entry fees will all be refunded.
EUSA believes in the motto: “If you don’t start planning, it won’t start happening.”
In the meantime, stay safe, keep preparing, #BeActive and see you later this year in Nijmegen and Belgrade!
