December 10 - Human Rights Day

Human Rights Day is observed every year on December 10. It commemorates the day on which the United Nations General Assembly in 1948 adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and two years later passing resolution 423 (V) about observing December 10 as the Human Rights Day. In 2015, the slogan is "Our Rights. Our Freedoms. Always."

European University Sports Association (EUSA) celebrates Human Rights Day, and respects the human rights and values not only on December 10 but throughout the year. Non-discrimination is one of the principles of EUSA, and is also explicitly referred to in our statutes.

Male and female participants in EUSA sports events

EUSA helps promote diversity, inclusion and participation through its events, activities and projects. We are proud to be able to offer all our sports events to male and female students, without any discrimination on political, religious, racial grounds or other personal circumstances. We are especially proud to open our events to students with disabilities, with the principle of inclusion and integration, starting with next year’s European Universities Games Zagreb-Rijeka 2016.

Scholarship opportunities for students with disabilities

Furthermore, European Universities Games Zagreb - Rijeka 2016 in cooperation with European Universities Sports Association, European Paralympic Committee and Cotrugli Business School offers an Online MBA Full Scholarships for people with disabilities. As deadline for application is December 20, 2015, we encourage everyone to help us promote this possibility.
