Dancing bridges disabilities

Dancing bridges disabilities

In Israel, the abled and disabled students can enjoy dance and performance, working and performing together.

The IDC Dancing Group was created ten years ago by two students of the InterDicsiplinary Center, looking for an opportunity to dance and perform. Since the beginning, the group got plenty of support from the student union and the sports unit at the IDC, under the management of Mr Ilan Kowalsky the Head of the sport unit. Today, IDC Dancing is managed by Mr Chen Hershkovitz and Mrs Aya Mohr.

Performance with abled and disabled dancers

IDC Dancing creates original choreographic in modern dance and routinely preforms at events held in and outside the campus. One of the main goals of the group is contributing to the community and society.

Cooperation between disabled and non-disabled dancers named Galgal Bamahagal is a good example, especially visible during the International Day of People with Disabilities, held on December 3. The group also performs at retirement home and at the Holocaust survivors day center, among other activities.
