The “San Giacomo dell’Orio” international university women's volleyball tournament in Venice, Italy took place from September 12-14, 2024. Six teams took part in this year's 49th edition of the outdoor event organized by CUS Venezia, the University Sports Center of Venice co-organizer of last year's successful first European Universities Winter Championship in Val di Zoldo, Italy.

 

Many authorities attended the 3-days event, alongside the President of CUS Venezia, Mr Massimo Zanotto were the Deputy Mayor and Sports Councillor, Mr Andrea Tomaello, and the President of the Venice City Council, Ms Linda Damiano; Croatian Academic Sports Federation (CASF) President and EUSA 1st Vice-President, Mr Haris Pavletic; Italian University Sport Federation (FederCUSI) President, Mr Antonio Dima, and FederCUSI Vice-Presiden Mr Claudio Bortoletti.

 

CUS Bergamo won the San Giacomo dell'Orio women's volleyball trophy for the second consecutive year; second place was secured by United Students of Zagreb, while the podium was closed by CUS L'Aquila.

 

The traditional sporting event was organized in collaboration with Venice Universities Ca’ Foscari University and IUAV.
