On Thursday, 23 February, the UniSport Stars - Annual Award of the Croatian Academic Sports Association for the academic year 2021/2022 was held, celebrating the success within university sport for the academic year 2021/2022.

The annual awards for the most successful took place in Zagreb, celebrating the success in a festive academic atmosphere.
The event brought together officials from different sport codes, political representatives, members of the community of Croatian and international university sports, as well as laureates.

In addition to members of the academic community, the ceremony was attended by important guests such as: the Minister of Science and Education Mr Radovan Fuchs, delegate of the President of the Croatian Parliament Mr Ante Bačić, president of the Board of Rectors and rector of the University of Zagreb Mr Stjepan Lakušić, then State Secretary at the Ministry of Tourism and Tomislav Družak, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of Croatia, Mr Hong Sungwook, Secretary General of the European University Sports Federation(EUSA) Mr Matjaž Pečovnik and member of the Executive Board of the World University Sports Federation Mr Marko Žunić.

"We are extremely proud and happy to continue the successful tradition of honoring the most successful female and male student-athletes. The university is one of the fundamental factors of the entire sports system, and therefore, the importance of this value of all the achievements achieved by the competitors within the academic community and beyond is also clear. Happy to see that university sports are becoming more and more numerous every year, as well as that the medals won and achievements are one additional part of the mosaic of student sports lives. Once again, I congratulate all the nominated students and laureates and I wish them the best of luck, that in addition to excellent results on the sports fields, they will also achieve the same in the student clubs", said Haris Pavletić, president of the Croatian Academic Sports Association, on behalf of the organizer.
