Counting down to the main 2021 FVLA sessions
It is a month to go until the main sessions of the 2021 FISU Volunteer Leaders Academy (FVLA) that will be held online on 8-10 September, following the introductory session held earlier in June.
The September session was initially set-up to be an onsite series of lectures and workshops in Kazan, Russia, but because of travel restrictions and sanitary measures due to the pandemic, the organisers have had to maintain a virtual format, similar to last year.
Students nominated by their National University Sport Federations become FISU Student Ambassadors if they complete their programme successfully. The role of a FISU Student Ambassador is to act as a liaison between FISU and the student communities in the countries where FISU is present and help to raise awareness about the University Sport Movement among students. Candidates interested in learning more about the programme and what it is to be a FISU Student Ambassador can visit the FISU Volunteer Leaders Academy website, contact the national university sport body in their country, or contact ambassadors@fisu.net.
FVLA is an educational event that serves as a key part of the international sports and volunteering movement. The aim is to create a volunteering community around the world that could share the best global practices in volunteer projects in all kinds of sports events, using all the values of university sport: excellence, teamwork, innovation, joy of sport and integrity.
