EUSA GENERAL ASSEMBLY 2005

Wroclaw, Poland: December 2 - December 4, 2005
 

The 7th General Assembly of the European University Sports Association (EUSA) was held in Wroclaw from December 2-4, 2005. EUSA had a pleasure to register record participation of 34 European countries. Many representatives of FISU were present in Poland: George Killian -President, Roberto Outerino - Treasurer, members of the Executive Committee: Sinisa Jasnic, Leonz Eder, Alison Odell, Kemal Tamer, Kairis Ulp, Ralethe Malunbete, Stavros Douvis, Marian Dymalski and FISU Secretary General, Roch Campana, who was, as the President of the Belgian University Sports Association, also the Chair of the Assembly.


The delegates welcomed Albania as the new, 38 member of EUSA; approved the annual reports of the Executive Committee and the Student Commission, the financial report, activity programme and the budget for 2006.

 

The Assembly also elected the new Executive Committee for the period 2005-2007. The new EUSA President became Alberto Gualtieri (ITA), Vice-President Sinisa Jasnic (SCG), Treasurer Adam Roczek (POL) and members: Leonz Eder (SUI), Kemal Tamer (TUR), Oleg Matytsin (RUS), Wolf Fruhauf (AUT), Phil Attwel (GBR), Raphael Gil Salinas (ESP), Tiina Beljaeva (EST) and Dinos Pavlou (CYP). Enno Harms was nominated as the Honorary President.

 

EUSA Secretary General Matjaz Pecovnik presented to the delegates the statistics of the EUC 2001-2005; which showed that the growth of the organisation is impressive. In 2005, 9 European university championships were organised, with more than 1600 students (200 university teams) from 27 European countries participating.
