Changes in OUSA

The Oceania University Sports Association (OUSA) held its 2011 General Assembly during the Summer Universiade in Shenzhen, China. While this was a non-election year for OUSA the main item on the agenda was to formalise the interim arrangements put in place by the OUSA Executive Committee, following the resignation of former OUSA President Karen Nelson end of June this year.

Members from Australia, Cook Islands, Fiji, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Northern Mariana Islands and Samoa were present, with apologies received from American Samoa, Guam and Federated State of Micronesia. The General Assembly also had the privilege of having Mr Alf Lazer, recently inducted as Emeritus Honorary Life Member of FISU and Mr Christian Pierre, FISU Press Officer, attend as observers.

Secretary General Mr Doulton and President Mr Preston

The key outcomes achieved from the Assembly was to welcome a new member from New Caledonia, confirm the new appointments to the OUSA Executive Committee, change the location of the office and to commence the OUSA Strategic Planning process for the next mandate period.
