Celebrating #ErasmusDays 2024
Starting from October 14th, the Erasmus Days 2024 are celebrated all over Europe!
The #ErasmusDays provide a platform where all stakeholders of the Erasmus+ program can organize digital or physical events. These events take various forms, such as seminars to exchange best practices, photo exhibitions to illustrate mobility experiences, conferences on the opportunities offered by Erasmus+, or social media challenges to stimulate engagement and creativity.
This 8th edition will continue momentum with a specific theme focused on sports, in harmony with the Olympic Games taking place in Paris in 2024. The general tagline for #ErasmusDays 2024 remains true to the spirit of the event: “6 days to make Europe shine!” This phrase embodies our ambition to create a dynamic and engaging atmosphere throughout the week.
For the sports theme, the tagline is: “Ready, steady, go!” This phrase not only evokes the excitement of sports competitions but also the departure towards new experiences, both physical and intellectual, inherent to the Erasmus+ program.
This year, having the sports theme, it is strongly recommended that participants organize events integrating the sports spirit, values of fair play, inclusion, and cultural exchange that sports convey.
In 2023, over 50 countries participated, and Erasmus+ project leaders organized more than 9,600 events. A new record! These figures reflect the concrete impact of the Erasmus+ programme over a wide range of sectors and audiences.
The European Erasmus+ National Agencies played an important role in the success of the 7th edition of the #ErasmusDays, contributing to the quantity and quality of the events and, as a result, highlighting the many opportunities for mobility and partnerships.
The #ErasmusDays have become an annual must-attend event celebrating the successes of the Erasmus+ program across Europe. Since their inauguration in 2017, these days have highlighted the benefits of education, training, mobility, and European cooperation.
EUSA, through its Institute, was and is involved in several projects co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union, and is using this year’s #ErasmusDays festival to highlight some of the transnational projects active in 2024, as well as the new projects, with special focus on the different topics:
- Dual Career: Discovering University Sport and Supporting Dual Career (DiscoverU)
- Safeguarding in Sport, Clean and Sustainable Sport: Fit4Green; Youth Intellectual Mindset (YouMind); European Week of Winter Sport (EWWS)
- Volunteering & Mobility: European Solidarity Corps (ESC), Youth Mobility, Mobility of Youth Workers
- Good governance: Enhancing Sport Organisations and Management (ESOM)
We are also looking forward to the projects that are foreseen to kick off soon, one led by EUSA Institute on the topic of tacking sport dropout and physical inactivity for higher education students called "FUSION - Future links for University athletes with Sports clubs Integrating Organised Networks" and two more in which EUSA Institute will be a partner: "Runners4All - Runners for All - European Students run", focusing on Health-enhancing physical activity and holistic lifelong healthy habits for students across Europe, and "EUYOUSPORT - European Youth and Sport Together," focusing on the field of youth.
EUSA Institute successfully implemented the Volunteer Program and Educational Side-Event Program of the European Universities Games Debrecen-Miskolc 2024 (EUG2024) through the “More than Games” project, co-funded by the European Union.
This year the #ErasmusDays 2024 will take place from October 14 to 19, 2024, expecting the participation of everyone to make this event a collective success, once again demonstrating the tangible benefits of the Erasmus+ program for youth, education, and European citizenship.
