Call for FISU Gender Equality Award 2015
The FISU Gender Equality-Sport Award is given to an existing project developed by a federation, an organisation, an institution or an individual to promote gender equality in the framework of university sport. Particular attention is given to projects that could act as models for other countries, regions and/or continents.
The award, initiated by the International University Sports Federation (FISU), aims to increase the proportion of women involved in university sport and to promote better gender balance in academia, and therefore it complements the resources that institutions allocate to gender equality.
The Gender Equality-Sport Award will provide a recognition and also a financial grant for three categories:
1. Best Individual Female University Athlete
2. National University Sports Federations: FISU Member Federations that promote the advancement of gender equity in their organisation
3. Special projects: specific projects that promote women’s participation in university sports, women’s leadership development in sports organisations or PhD/investigation projects.
The nominees must have carried out their activities or projects from 2013 and/or 2014 onwards. They may have implemented their activities or projects at regional or national level, or only in one higher education institution. The funds granted by FISU must be allocated to the development of the awarded project.
FISU Member Federations must gather nominations by March 10, 2015 and submit their selection to the FISU Secretariat no later than March 31, 2015.
For more information on the award and nomination process, please see the official Call and Application Form, and/or visit www.fisu.net.
