Bydgoszcz to host EUSA Rowing in 2023
The city of Bydgoszcz, Poland will be hosting the European Universities Championship in Rowing in 2023. The event will take place from 7-10 September.
On 27-28 of October, EUSA Technical Delegate for Rowing, Mr Lionel Girard, did an Inspection visit in Bydgoszc, in order to take a closer look at preparations for the championship.
During this inspection visit, the Organisational Committee was represented by Ms Anna Tataruch - Vice President for Organizational Affairs of the Polish Federation of Rowing Association, Ms Katarzyna Domanska - President of the Organizing Committee and Ms Maja Pokorniecska - Event Manager of EUC Rowing 2023.
The Inspection Visit was conducted in two days, having different technical and non-technical matters as topic of discussion. Topics such as human resources, coordination, result management, volunteers and referees, including several rowing courses and venues, marked the start of the visit. In continuation, overall safety and security, cooperation with National Federation, medical staff, protocol and visits of other designated working areas, was covered by EUSA Technical Delegate along with OC Representatives.
On the second day, first, the EUSA delegate and the Organizing Committee visited the Bydgoszcz rowing clubs and the Brdyujście regatta course to inspect the track and the conditions there. The next step was to visit the hotels where the competitors will be accommodated, the catering areas and the Opening Ceremony venue - Mill Island.
EUSA Technical Delegates thanked the OC for the great inspection visit and congratulated the good preparations, while highlighting their satisfaction that the European Universities Championship in Rowing will be hosted by the city of Bydgoszcz, already being a multiple times host of different EUSA Championships.
