During the European Universities Games in Rotterdam, the Open Bridge Trophy will be organised between July 24 and 26.

 

The event is organised by the European University Sports Association (EUSA) and the European Bridge League (EBL), as the continuation and the finals of the Online European Universities Bridge Trophy. The online competition hosted 33 European university teams last year over the period of two months.

 

 

Rotterdam will therefore host the top 4 teams which will compete against each other in this special event. EUSA bridge event is coming back to this city after nine years - in 2005 the European University Team Championship was organised in Rotterdam and got the patronage as EUSA cup.

 

The cooperation between EUSA and EBL helps in promotion of bridge as a mind sport among youth. In 2014 a few other international bridge competitions will be held apart from the trophy event in Rotterdam; namely the European Youth Bridge Pairs Championships in Burghausen, Germany in July and the World University Bridge Championships in Opatija, Croatia in November. In addition to the competitions, EBL also organises junior bridge camps in July.
