Behind the scenes - European Universities Games 2022
Welcome to the story of European Universities Games 2022. We are one day before the start of the first arrivals and four days before the grand opening of this edition of the games. With this article we will walk you through the past one week and share with you some "behind the scenes" moments.
Last week, EUSA team joined the Organizing Committee in Lodz, to officially in person, join the forces and work on the last details, challenges and preparations before the start of the games.
The representatives of the local Organizing Committee and EUSA are trying to meet the demands, expectations, and day to day challenges before the start of the games, working hard to assure great outcome and atmosphere of the European Universities Games 2022, in Lodz, Poland.
EUSA Media team and Protocol and Hospitality team have been also working hard on finalizing and preparing all the needed details around media coverage, important dates and events, arrivals and welcoming of VIPs, officials and EUSA guests, as well as preparing the welcoming packages and welcoming desk.
Representatives of the Protocol and Hospitality team have also managed to do an inspection visit of Atlas Arena, the venue where the grand Opening ceremony will take place.
EUSA Media team took part in various preparational activities together with EUG2022 volunteers at Zatoka Sportu, including packing thousands of welcoming bags for the participants and officials.
The EUSA and Organizing Commitee's Sport departments have been meeting to define the detailed schedule for the 20 sports featured in the Games,finalizing dates for the General Tecnical Meetings, entries and having meetings on different topics related to sports technicalities.
They have also been doing final control visits on the venues located across Lodz, as final details still need to be arranged and to make sure everything perfect condition and order, before the start of the matches.
EUSA Management team also had the opportunity to organize and attend a team building afternoon on 12 of July, where they had the chance to get to know each other, share experiences and boost up the team dynamic through a bowling competition.
From tomorrow onwards the majority of teams will be arriving, adding to the atmosphere and charm of the Games. Although the official opening ceremony will be held on Sunday evening, a few competitions will already start by then, so the excitement is already rising up.
