#BeActive from home!
Amid these uncertain and isolated times, EUSA is encouraging everyone from the EUSA family and beyond to #BeActive by taking part in some form of physical exercise as part of the now universal #StayHome initiative and the new #BeActiveAtHome and #FitAtHome campaigns.
The COVID-19 Coronavirus has affected millions across the globe in various ways, not least the sporting world where several competitions have been either cancelled or postponed, including EUSA’s European Universities Games in Belgrade, Serbia.
Lockdown measures in various countries in order to help stop the spread of the virus have limited the movements of citizens indefinitely, while professional sportsmen and women have had to improvise in order to maintain their fitness while secluded at home.
Exercise is however not only for professionals, with regular exercise proven to be important in maintaining both a healthy body and mind. In this light, EUSA is uniting with various other sporting institutions, including FISU with their #FitAtHome campaign as well as the European Commission’s #BeActiveAtHome initiative, to promote physical activity amongst all our members, encouraging everyone to share their regular home exercise routine with us and the entire EUSA family as a form of encouragement, positivity and upliftment in this difficult period.
The instructions are simple:
1. Take a photo or short video of yourself doing some sort of physical exercise in your home.
2. Publish it on social media, tagging @eusaunisport, and we will share your post amongst the EUSA family, to motivate others and keep us united in our #BeActive lifestyles, despite the distance!
3. Remember to use the #FitAtHome and #BeActiveAtHome hashtags as well, to join in FISU and the European Commission’s initiatives in creating a truly global family of healthy living!
Setting the example in this #BeActive #StayHome initiative is EUSA’s Secretary General Mr Matjaz Pecovnik, who found an innovative way to keep his reflexes sharp by playing indoor table tennis!
