Be part of the 2020 #MyEusa Photo Competition

University sports lovers from across Europe will be delighted to know that the annual #MyEusa photo competition is back, albeit with a somewhat different format this year.

Launched in 2009, EUSA’s annual photo competition encourages participants – including athletes, officials, volunteers and spectators – at EUSA competitions to take a photograph at the event which illustrates what university sport means to them.

With the current COVID-19 pandmeic resulting in the postponement of the fifth edition of the European Universities Games in Belgrade, Serbia to 2021, no official EUSA sporting compeititon will be permitted for the remainder of 2020. Despite this, the annual #MyEusa Photo Competition will still run this year, but in a slightly different manner.

Participants of the 2020 Photo Competition are encouraged to take photos of themselves participating in their desired sport or physical activity while training, either at home or at their designated training grounds.

With Coronavirus protocols varying in different countries, EUSA through this competition would like participants to remain active and motivated despite the lack of university sport competitions, yet doing so while abiding by the laws stipulated in their residing country, ensuring that their training is safe, secure and in line with local and national health and hygiene recommendations.

The aim is to create a united front amid the pandemic, with each participant’s training pictures adding motivation to the preparations for next year’s European Universities Games, which looks set to be one of the biggest in EUSA’s history.

The competition will run from July 20 until the end of September, following which voting will take place and commemorative prizes will be awarded to the winning entrees.

2020 #myeusa campaign

July 20 simultaneously marks two months to go until the International Day of University Sport, celebrated annually on September 20, where again a healthy and balanced lifestyle led by student-athletes is recognised and promoted.

Participants in this year’s Photo Competition should published their photos through the official #MyEUSA mobile application (available for Android and iOS) or through the my.eusa.eu website, while they are also encouraged to share their photos on their personal Facebook, Instagram and Twitter using the hashtags #BeActive and #LetsIDUS with #MyEusa.
