Awarding ceremony for best athletes in Armenia
On October 22, the Armenian Student Sports Federation (ARSSF), Armenian Ministry of Education and Science and Youth Foundation of Armenia held an awarding ceremony for the best Armenian participants at the 27th Summer Universiade and the best students in the 14th Republican Students Games.
 
Mr Mher Ghazaryan, Vice-President of the Armenian Student Sport Federation and Chief of staff at the Ministry of Education and Science, welcomed athletes and stated that during the last years, Armenian Government and Ministry of Education and Science are paying more attention to the programs for healthy lifestyle among the students, organization of sport events and supporting student-athletes to get best results in international competitions. In the awarding ceremony also the President of the European University Sports Association (EUSA) Mr Adam Roczek was present.    

Welcome speeches
 
Mr Roczek expressed his gratitude to the President of the Armenian Student Sports Federation and Minister of Education and Science Mr Armen Ashotyan for supporting the event. He also mentioned the good cooperation between ARSSF and EUSA. Coordinator Board of Trustees of Youth Foundation of Armenia Mr Karen Avagyan also pointed the importance of the role of ARSSF in the development of student sport, the result of which are the medals  that student athletes are achieving in the various championships. He also stressed that the Youth Foundation of Armenia also ready to implement such programs that will help athlete’s participation in international tests and will increase the number of medals.

One of the awarded athletes was European champion, Olympic bronze medallist Mr Arthur Aleksanyan. He stated that it is a pleasure, when athlete's work is appreciated and it is encouraging, leading to more achievements. 

Awarding of best athletes
 
In 2013, the Republican Student Games were organised by the Ministry of Education and Science in Armenia and Armenian Student Sports Federation for the 14th time. There were around 2000 students from 25 universities of Armenia taking part. During the whole year student-athletes measured their forces in seven sports - Basketball, Volleyball, Chess, Table Tennis, Futsal, Handball and Athletics. The aim of this event, held annually, is to promote healthy lifestyle, and to stimulate sport activities among youth.
