AUSF Executive Committee meets in Malaysia
On November 5th, the Executive Committee of the Asian University Sports Federation (AUSF) had its second meeting of the year in Perlis, Malaysia. In conjunction with the meeting, the 1st Asian University Woodball Championship was hosted by University Malaysia Perlis (UniMap), under the supervision of Malaysia University Sports Council (MASUM).
 
The meeting started with a welcome speech by AUSF President Mr Xinsheng Zhang. He extended the sincere gratitude to both MASUM and UniMap for their hospitable arrangements for the EC Meeting as well as the Championship, and he also expressed high expectations for AUSF EC members to progress and promote sports development in Asia through joint efforts.

During the meeting, EC members reiterated the events to be held in 2014, namely the EC meeting in Gwangju in March, 2nd Golf Championship, 3rd Beach Volleyball Championship and General Assembly in China in late August, 5th Men’s Basketball Championship, Seminar and EC meeting in Chinese Taipei in October 2014.
 
Secretary General Mr Kenny Chow presented the report on FISU Subsidy Allocation for AUSF events EC members. After that, the EC members discussed the guidance on how to make the allocation more reasonable in the future. As one of the important guidelines for future championships, Principles on nomination of Technical Delegates were discussed and approved in general. As the number of championships increased, the standard of these championships must also be improved, which made the work of this committee very critical to the success of our championships.
 
Mr Igarashi Hisato has been appointed to be the Chair of the Technical Commission. According to the principles, the TC members will be appointed based on the Asian University Championships that will be organized in 2014 and 2015. After that, the TC will be reviewed and members may be re-appointed. For each event, 2 members will be appointed, in case one is unavailable and also to ensure that the TD is not from a hosting country or region. With the involvement of TC, AUSF events will be more professional and successful.

The meeting concluded with a progress report on the training program for university students throughout Asia. The program aims to improve their capability in administration, communication, etc. After the meeting, the participants were invited to attend the awarding ceremony and closing ceremony of 1st Asian University Woodball Championship.
