Assembly of AUSF completed

The 6th General Assembly of the Asian University Sports Federation (AUSF) was held in Shenzhen, China, from September 21-22. About 60 delegates from 24 AUSF Member countries attended this electorial Assembly.

The delegates first accepted three news member countries, namely Bahrein, Oman and Saudi Arabia. Under the leadership of AUSF President Zhang Xinsheng (China) the Assembly was managed smoothly, all the reports including the President's report, the report of the Secretary General Kenny Chow (Hongkong) and from the Treasurer See Tow Cheng Fave (Singapore) were accepted without discussion. In the past 3 years from 2008 to 2010, thanks to the hard work of the AUSF executive board, 10 continental championships have been held successfully.

 

General Assembly AUSF

 

The General Assembly finally re-elected Mr Zhang Xinsheng with 23 out of 24 votes as President for the next 6 years term. Mr Omar Al-Hai (UAE) became Senior Vice President, the two new Vice Presidents after the 4th round are Kunning Chen (TPE) and Hosung Chang (KOR). The outgoing Secretary General Kenny Chow (HKG) and the Vice Secretary General Xue Yanqing (CHN) were re-elected as well as the Treasurer from Singapore, See Tow Chang Fave. Finally among the 6 remaining candidates for Assessor, Dorjsuren Jargalsaikan (MGL), Hisato Igarashi (JPN), Mahdi Talebpour (IRI) and Preecha Prayoonpat (THA) were elected, all of them outgoing EC Members.

 

New AUSF Executive Committee

Including five Asian representatives in the FISU Executive Committee, 19 FISU EC Members attended the GA of AUSF, among them also four EUSA EC Members, namely the EUSA Vicepresidents Sinisa Jasnic and Oleg Matytsin, Treasurer Leonz Eder, and Assessor Kemal Tamer. Claude-Louis Gallien, Stefan Bergh, Pedro Dias, Verena Burk, Stavros Douvis, Marian Dymalski from Europe were also present as well as FISU President George E.Killian and Secretary General/CEO Eric Saintrond.
