ASA Israel Games in Eilat 2017

ASA Israel organised the 49th ASA Championships in Eilat, held between March 14 and 17, with 25 universities and colleges taking part from all over Israel. Over 1.400 students were engaged as competitor and volunteers, with more than 400 female students.

The participants enjoyed great weather with temperature average of 20° C and were engaged in 17 sports: 3x3 Basketball, Aquathlon (Run/Swim/Run), Beach Volleyball, Bowling, Chess, Cross Country Running, Futsal, Handball, Judo, Mountain Biking, Open Water Swimming, Sea Kayak, Short Course Swimming, Squash, Table Tennis, Tennis and Wind Surfing.

Basketball competitions

Five of those sports were new in the program (Bowling, Handball, Judo, Sea Kayak, Short Course Swimming) and they were great success and probably will be on 2018 the program after being for years in different locations.

Windsurfing, featuring also Olympians

Three Olympian took part of the events as well - two in Windsurfing and one in Judo. The Games were held in excellent atmosphere and included social events for competitors and volunteers, as well as the Sport Leadership Conference for Students.

Conference participants

The conference was organised together with the national Union of Israeli Students and the Ministry of sport and was opened by President of ASA Israel Mr Victor Hadad, PM Michel Zohar and Vice President of the Israeli National Union of Israeli Students Ms Inbar Hochberg.
