ASA Games and Leadership Conference 2018

The 50th International ASA Games were celebrated between March 12 and 22 in Eilat, Israel. Over 1500 students took part in the ASA Israel International Championship. The event was also accompanied by a leadership conference with international participation.

At the event, competitions in 20 sports were attended by students from 26 universities from Israel, competing in Aquatlon (Running and Swimming), 3x3 Basketball, Beach Volleyball, Bowling, Chess, Cycling, Field Race, Futsal, Handball, Judo, Karate, Kayaking, Netball, Open Water Swimming, Squash, Swimming, Table Tennis, Tennis, and Wind Surfing.

In addition, 70 students that came first time from Belarus, Cyprus, Greece, Poland and Slovenia, taking part in 3x3 Basketball, Beach Volleyball and Tennis.



At the leadership conference that took part during the games, following the opening ceremony, several topics were discussed, about organisation of university sport in Israel and internationally, how to improve the connection between ASA and universities and the government.

Leadership Conference

Special focus was also given on gender equality, presented by Ms Suzy Yogev, President of the Gender Equality Committee of the Olympic Committee of Israel.

Mr Piotr Marszal introduced AZS Poland and explained the university sport system in Poland. His colleague Mr Andrzej Hrehorowicz talked about sport and education activities in EUSA and FISU.

ASA Israel

ASA Israel President Mr Victor Hadad gave the lecture about how to improve the connection between ASA and universities and Mr Yoel Razbuzuve, Member of Parliament that graduate at the IDC and was an Olympic rival in Judo under the Israeli flag, talked about the connection between ASA Israel and the ministry of sport.
