Arena Channels Group announced as EUG2021 media partner
International broadcaster Arena Channels Group was confirmed as the official media partner of EUSA's 5th European Universities Games following the announcement of the exciting partnership on Friday, March 12.
A regional leader among sports channels that broadcasts its programmes, including several European and international competitions, on five exclusive channels in Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Northern Macedonia, Arena Channels Group will now add this year’s European Universities Games in Belgrade, Serbia to its extensive list of sporting events.
The agreement of cooperation was signed in the Arena studio by Mr Predrag Juskovic, Director of the 5th European Universities Games and Mr Nebojsa Zugic, Director of the Arena Channels Group. At the occasion, Mr Juskovic expressed his gratitude that a media house such as Arena Sport recognised the importance of the European Universities Games, with the hope that both parties will be proud of such a large project of national importance with the support of the RS Government and Prime Minister Ms Ana Brnabic as head of the Organising Committee.
“Thank you for a day that is historic for the European Universities Games, but also for the EUSA,” EUG2021 Director Mr Juskovic said. “We are glad that you have recognised the importance of the event itself, which is multifunctional and, in addition to sports, has a cultural and social character, which includes other programs for exchanging experiences of students from universities from all over Europe. The Games are not only important for our country, but of an international character, and I am sure that we will be proud of everything that we will achieve together in the coming period.”
With the Arena Channels Group providing widespread content of the event, producing shows and broadcasting matches and competitions with an open studio in the Athletes Village and a free signal for regional television, Mr Zugic is thrilled with the new partnership and is looking forward to this summer’s event.
“Recognising the importance of this project, in general for sports, at a time when it is very important to present sports to young people in the best possible way and to motivate them to start training, comes at the right time,” he said. “I am happy that we will be a part of this project. I think that in one way, as the Games deserve, we as partners in our domain will do the job in the best possible way.
“Never before has there been so much support and assistance to sports, as there is now from our President Mr Aleksandar Vucic, the Government of the Republic of Serbia and all sports workers in Serbia. I think that is why everyone is especially motivated and that is why we have such results, where more and more international sports organisations turn to Serbia and decide to hold competitions in our country.”
