Anti-Doping Junior Camp
European Anti-Doping Camp, which took place in Burghausen, Germany from June 22 to 26, was successfully completed by the EUSA Anti Doping Junior Ambassador candidates!
After four days of education, five students that have been nominated on behalf of EUSA: Aikaterini Zompanaki (GRE), Jan Druzina (SLO), Tjasa Hojnik (SLO), Luka Rukavina (CRO) and Andre Bonello (MLT), have received their European Anti-Doping Initiative (EADIn) certificates.
That means that they are ready to spread the information and organise seminars and conferences on National and European levels in order to develop a peer-to-peer network of Anti Doping Junior Ambassador through Youth Camps. During their stay in Burghausen they were supervised by Abosede Ajayi (GBR) as EUSA medical Commission member and Marko Zunic (CRO) as coordinator, who also attended various meetings with the representatives of other project partners on how to raise the anti-doping awareness.
The program, that consisted of lectures, questionnaires and workshops, was cooperated by the European Youth Work in Sports within the European Non-Governmental Sports Organisation (ENGSO Youth) and was attended by around 50 participants.
On the last day of the European Anti-Doping Camp a meeting of the representatives of partner organisers and coordinators was held, in which each partner presented on how it will implement EADIn project. EUSA representative Marko Zunic explained that EUSA will, apart from promotion in its printed, electronic and social media, provide information about EADIn at the European Universities Championships this year and European Universities Games in Cordoba next year.
The project is aimed at establishing an European-wide Anti-Doping mentality in the youth sector by establishing a moral tenor towards concepts such as Fair-play, sensitizing and raising awareness on all levels of the complex social environment surrounding the doping problematic and implementing strategies to motivate young people to pass on the message and create a strong multiplying effect. The European Anti-Doping Initiative is funded by the EU programme Preparatory Action in the field of sport, and promotes healthy sports participation, without drugs.
