Also Martial Arts at the EUSA Games 2016

Out of the 21 sports featured at the upcoming European Universities Games, held in July 2016 in Croatian cities Zagreb and Rijeka, three of them form Martial Arts sports - Judo, Karate and Taekwondo.

Under the slogan Heart Believes - Mind Achieves, the Games will include competitions for men and women in 21 sports: Badminton, Basketball, Basketball 3x3, Beach Volleyball, Bridge, Chess, Football, Futsal, Golf, Handball, Judo, Karate, Rowing, Rugby 7's, Sport Climbing, Swimming, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Tennis, Volleyball and Water Polo. Two of the sports - Table Tennis and Swimming - will also include competitions for students with disabilities. Apart of the sports competitions, the Games will be accompanied by the Rector's Conference, educational side-events, cultural program and other activities.



In Martial Arts, apart from the standard competition weight categories for men and women, we are happy to announce that the following competitions will also be held:
- in Judo: Nage-no-kata and Katame-no-kata tournaments;
- in Karate: Kumite and Kata Individual and Team tournaments;
- in Taekwondo: Recognized and Free-Style Poomsae tournaments.

The registration for all sports is open, and can be done through the national university sports bodies in any of the 45 EUSA member federations.
The first deadline is already January 15, 2016, so we encourage everyone to register as soon as possible.
